What an amazing summer it has been already! My daughter finished her college softball career and I was able to interview the Mayor of Avondale.

This weekend marked the end of a long but incredible chapter for our daughter Emma… the final games of her softball career which that has been filled with dedication, heart, and so many unforgettable memories. Watching her grow through this sport has been nothing short of amazing, and we couldn’t be more proud of the person she has become. We are so thankful to Jesus for blessing Emma and our family with this part of our lives. We give Him all the glory.

Food!

5 Things I Learned About Avondale from Mayor Mike Pineda

  1. The city is pursuing a grant to help bring another police station to Avondale near Alamar.

  2. A new Embassy Suites is planned, featuring a rooftop bar, restaurant, and conference center.

  3. He’d love to see a Cheesecake Factory and Famous Dave’s BBQ open in Avondale.

  4. His favorite tacos come from Poca Madre, Rosie’s Taco Shop, and of course, his wife’s kitchen.

  5. An exciting lakefront entertainment district is planned for The BLVD, with an outdoor music venue and additional restaurants.

Bonus: He’s hoping the Arizona Cardinals can finish at least .500 this season.
